Personal:
I grew up right here in the Twin Cities. I love to travel and have been to five continents. My experiences in other countries have taught me so much about people and the intricate, beautiful stories we all have. In my free time I enjoy playing tennis, CrossFit, reading, painting, writing, and spending time with friends and family.
Professional:
The famous poet, Ralph Waldo Emerson, writes,“What lies behind us and what lies ahead of us are small compared to what lies inside of us”. Challenges and obstacles are a part of life, but perseverance lies within us and propels us to continue forward and to be transformed as we persevere. I believe therapy is not passive allowance of change, but rather, participation in the process of healthy transformation and growth. I believe in your story and in your ability to re-write the parts you want to change.
I have over 10 years of experience working with children, teens, and families and also enjoy working with couples and individuals and young adults. I like to use a systemic, strengths-based approach focusing on not just the individual, but the entire system (family) in which the individual lives. Areas of interest are Anxiety, Depression, Eating Disorders and Body Image, Abuse (Physical, Emotional, Verbal, Spiritual, Sexual), Grief and Loss, Co-Dependency/Boundary Violations, Life Transition Guidance, and Spirituality.
